Student Teaching: 1st Grade

(September 10th-October 23 2020)

My first student teaching placement was with a wonderfully kind and exuberant group of first graders in Garden City Park Elementary (Garden City Park, NY). I taught across subject areas and implemented lessons from district curriculum including Fundations, Reading Fundamentals and Readers Workshop, Social Studies Scholastic Readers, and Envisions Mathematics. The lessons were created during the COVID-19 pandemic, so lessons were planned with safety precautions and procedures in mind.
