Playday Art 5+ Instruction

PLAYDAY offers creative and dynamic art classes for students ages 5+ in a variety of mediums. Classes range from more open-ended process art to step-by-step direct instruction with room for individual creativity. Some classes include Color Explosion, Watercolor World, Little Architects, Cartooning, Drawing and Painting, Fashion Design, Sculpture, Mixed Media, and Collage Creations. Classes vary in size from small groups of 2-5 students to 30. As an Instructor (as well as a Studio Manager), I was responsible for planning and executing my own lesson aligned with the class offerings at each studio. I would take into consideration group size, group dynamics as I got to know the students, and the interests of different students as a way to foster their interests. Since the classes are mixed age groups, I differentiated the execution of the activities to be accessible to children ages 5-11 in one group.
